Holiday Happenings

December 2013:
The spirit of the Christmas season is all around us!  We've participated in the church Christmas parade, the church nativity play (Bo a sheep and Molly an angel), the kids have been to see Santa at the mall, we've watched countless holiday movies and, finally...Christmas!

The Ceiling Can't Hold Santa

December 2013:
Bo and Tyler performed this dance in front of more than 400 students and staff members at school for our school's annual holiday sing-along.  Needless to say, both Bo and Tyler were in the holiday spirit!

It's never too early...

(November 2013) ...to start writing your list for Santa.

I caught this picture of Bo hard at work writing down all of the things he hoped he would get for Christmas this year.  Most of his requests involved sports equipment or jerseys.  He is relying most on the magic of Christmas for an "ESPN Football Court" which is basically a miniature version of a football field that the ESPN commentators use to show how plays were run or how they should be run during games.  We'll see what Santa brings...:)

Sad, Sad Bo

November 2013:
Bo suffered a devastating loss---our Georgia Bulldogs lost to the Auburn Tigers.  He was crushed, moved to tears actually.  (I'm being completely serious.  He was crying.) He was so upset that he felt compelled to leave a message for Molly to read in the morning so that he could gently break the news to her. :)

Family Reunion

November 2013:
We spent another fun weekend in Alabama for the Boykin family reunion.  The kids had a blast with their cousins and, of course, I had to snap some pictures with such beautiful scenery around them!

 

Fall Photo Shoot

This year, I was the photographer to get pictures for our holiday Christmas card.  Although they certainly don't look like professional pictures (I used an iPad to take them), the kids are pretty cute!

Molly's 2 1/2 Year Well-Visit & Bo's 6 Year

Here are the stats for Molly's well visit from October 2013 (age 2 1/2):
Height: 37in (75th-90th%)
Weight: 30.6 pounds (50th-75th%)
She was meeting most of the major communication development stages for her age which is great and gives us hope that she will be dismissed from Babies Can't Wait by the end of 2013!

Bo was 45 inches and 42 pounds for his 6 year well-visit which continues to be slightly above average for height but right on track for weight.

Halloween 2013

Bo's been into bookmaking lately. Here he is writing and illustrating one of his many books which are usually either about sports, animals or his friends and family.

"Bu-ful"

September 2013:
Molly was getting out of the bathtub today, grabbed her chubby, toddler tummy and said "bu-ful."  I hope that she always remembers that she is exactly that!!

Fall Ball

These are videos from a couple of Bo's batting experiences this year.  He is a little lefty but wants to be a switch hitter.  He goes into the backyard, tosses the ball up into the air, and practices hitting the ball over and over to get better.  He's determined!

Bo has found a friend for life this year.  He met Ava at the start of the school year and was smitten.  She is a smart and funny girl with a very bubbly personality.  He cares a lot about her, and we hope they can continue to be friends as they go through school together.  Here is a piece of his work which shows that he clearly has Ava on his mind as he is learning at school. :)
