Merry Christmas 2014!

Santa checked their lists and gave them plenty of fun gifts that they were hoping to get.  For Molly, it was fashion, Paw Patrol and princesses.  For Bo, it was sports equipment and sports clothes.

This year, both kids were able to participate in the children's play at church.  However, it may not have been the best decision to let Molly be a part of the show.  Bo was all business as a shepherd while Molly was not the rule-following angel :)

Fall Fun of 2014!

 

 

For Halloween this year, Bo decided to go with the soccer player Lionel Messi while Molly dressed up as her favorite Disney princess Rapunzel.  Both kids absolutely loved trick-or-treating. Molly couldn't stop eating the candy as we walked around while Bo figured out that the later that you trick or treat in our neighborhood, the more candy you'll get since people are all to willing to give you handfuls at a time so that they run out of candy when they get tired of answering the door. 

Destined to be drafted

This happens to be one of Bo's favorite shirts right now.  I can't wash it fast enough before be wants to wear it again. It fits his personality perfectly because as committed as he is to becoming a better athlete, I think he very well could make that dream a possibility!  (His educator parents would not mind being taken care of by his NFL, MLB, NBA or MLS paychecks!)

HSES Pep Rally

Bo was called upon to compete in a dance-off at a pep rally.  He had lots of fun, and he had lots of people cheering him on too!  Just like his daddy, Bo is not afraid to be in front of a crowd!

Hanging out with the boys for his birthday!

Bo decided that he wanted a boys-only get together to celebrate his upcoming 7th birthday.  He has a pool party and invited all of the boys in his class as well as the boys from his kindergarten class and some neighborhood friends.  It was a little wild with so many energetic boys, but I think they had fun!  Here is my attempt to get a picture of the boys as they were jumping in the pool:

Happy 7th birthday, sweet Bo!

Forget me not...

I just had to record a few Molly-isms so that we didn't forget them...

**Molly cannot go to school without wearing a tutu.  Her teacher asked me how many tutus Molly has and after thinking about it, I realized that she has 10!!   Her teacher also told me that one day they were asking where Molly went and one of the kids saw her in one of the tunnels on the playground.  He said, "There's Molly!  I see her tutu!"

**Molly's language has developed quite a bit in the last few months.  One of the main reasons we can tell is that her meal blessings have changed from "...by His hands, we are fed.  Thank you for Fred..."  For awhile there, she also called every single one of her stuffed animals "Fred" and now they all have cute little names. 

**A couple of months ago, Molly took on a heavy southern belle accent:
Me: "Molly, do you want some more goldfish?"
Molly: (In her best southern accent )"Ishur doooo!"  (I sure do!)


**One morning she was eating Trix  cereal when one of the pieces fell on the floor.  Her reaction: "Oh no!  I lost a trick!"

St. Simon's 2014

Our trip to St. Simon's was exactly what we needed to wrap up our summer break.  We had fun with our family (Tyler's sister and her family, Tyler's dad and step mom, and my mom joined us), and the kids had a blast on the beach, playing on the playground and at the water park, eating ice cream) on a daily basis) and exploring the island of St. Simon's.  

On the drive down there, the kids needed something to occupy their time.   What could be better than chapstick?  Molly thought it was a sunscreen stick and rubbed it all over her face.

 

The kid's favorite things to do at the beach were to explore the tide pools and sand bars, float on the waves and ride on the skim board.  Molly really didn't like the murky parts of the water, but other than that she was all over the beach unless we fed her snacks to keep her out of the sun for a little while.

 

 

 

We ate at some of out favorite restaurants including Iguanas, Sal's Pizza and Southern Soul BBQ.

  

Mid-week we went to the water park at the Village to give ourselves a break from the beach.  Because of Molly's behavior, there are probably several lifeguards there that will not choose to have children for a LONG time.  However, a good time was had by all! :)

 

Vacations are all about taking it easy! Tyler is recovering from a herniated disc so Molly decided to do some stretches with him to support his recovery.

 

 Meanwhile, Bo climbed a treat to read a good book!

We also had this pond near our condo.  On three different days, we fed the friendly (and very hungry) ducks, turtles and fish.

 

Other notable things:
Bo learned to play Bunco on the trip!  Now he can fill in whenever my group needs a sub. :)  He also loves playing bags/cornhole and put up a good fight when my mom and I took on he and Tyler in a bags competition while we were on vacation. 

Molly's thing lately has been to ask us questions that she wants us to ask her.  For example, instead of saying "The balloon is pink" she will ask us "What color is the balloon?"  We have to remind her to tell us what she knows and then she will state the obvious. 
Another cute expression that she says now is "I sure do!"  We can ask her if she likes something or if she wants to do something and her response is "I sure do."  However, she says it in a cute, southern toddler way so it sounds more like "I sure do-oo!"
