Thanksgiving

We had lots of fun with the family for Thanksgiving, and I remembered to take pictures of all of the kids (for once).

Bo and Tyler were also able to enjoy a fun game of football on Saturday, and Molly and I were the cheerleaders and the photographers.

Here's the latest on Molly:
At almost seven months old, Molly loves:
music (her favorite songs to listen to are Randy Travis' Deeper Than the Holler, John Michael Montgomery's Life's a Dance, Elmo's Song, & Nicki Minaj's Super Bass)
baths
her babysitter Dee and her husband Mr. Kenny
all of the silly things that Bo does
solid foods (especially the vegetables)
being carried in the Baby Bjorn or going on walks in the stroller
toys with tags
watching me sign different things like "all done" and "bath"
snuggling with blankets
the Super Why tv show theme song
Sportscenter
being clapped for when she does something
feeling Tyler's unshaved face
being outside (especially when it is a little breezy)

At almost seven months old, Molly dislikes/has no patience for:
car rides that are longer than ten minutes and/or too sunny
socks on her feet (she prefers to eat them)
a particular nurse at her doctor's office that she knows has given her shots before
the taste of Tylenol
sitting up on her own (she doesn't mind being in her Bumbo seat or something else that supports her while she is sitting up)
not getting attention for a time period any longer than five minutes

We also took Molly to have her head re-measured this week. At her six-month visit, it was 2.2 cm larger than the 100th percentile measurement and this time it was only 2.1 cm larger so we're moving in the right direction. We won't have to do the CT scan anytime soon, and she doesn't have to get her head re-measured until her 9 month well-visit. Although her head didn't grow much this month, her body did. She's a pound heavier than she was last month! She's now 19.3 lbs which Bo did not weigh until he was 9 months old!!
Here's a comparison of Bo and Molly at 7 months old. With the exception of the eye color and shape, they could be twins!

The House that Judd and Bubba Built-Week 10

The tile is ready to be put in, we have a driveway/sidewalk and the lighting is in. We should have our granite counter tops this week and the landscaping will be done soon too. The builder is going to start working on our screened in back porch in the next week or so. We're going to pick out carpet and kitchen appliances this week. The doors are locked now since the cabinets and lighting are in so I wasn't able to do my weekend photo shoot of the inside of the house.
Here's the outside though:

Our tentative closing date has been moved up to the 17th of December. Santa may be coming to see us in our new house! :)

The House that Judd and Bubba Built-Week 9

During this week alone, we chose the counter tops for the kitchen and bathrooms, the back splash for the kitchen, the tile for the floors in the bathrooms and laundry room, the front door and all of the lighting for the house. We have to choose carpet this week. It's fun, but really quite tiring...decisions...decisions...
We should know sometime soon when our expected closing date is so we can tell Santa where to find us this year. :)

The whole house has been painted (which, in case you're wondering, Sherwin Williams' "Nice White" paint should actually be called "Nice Pink." After the painter put one coat of Nice White over the walls of most of the house and discovered it was not quite the white we were looking for, we decided to paint the whole house "Simplify Beige" which was originally only going in the master bedroom, closet, etc.).
The interior doors are up, and we have gutters and cabinets too. They are getting ready to pour the concrete for the driveway, sidewalk, patio and back porch. The builders have been busy, busy, busy!

Bo Boykin's Homework

Bo has taken quite an interest in writing words and knowing the correct spelling of words. The other day, he had to color these pictures green, but he took it upon himself to write "Bo Boykin's Homework" on the front and back of his homework page. The impressive part was that he didn't need any help spelling any of the words.

Another cute thing that he said the other day had to do with the calendar. Ever since his 4th birthday in August, Bo has paid close attention to the holidays and events that happen each month. On the first day of November, we were having breakfast and Bo said, "It's November. It's time to thanks give!" He also shocked us the other day when he spelled November without looking at the word. With Christmas and the move into the new house, it will be interesting to see what he has to say about December.

What amazes me more than anything is his love for Molly and Molly's fascination with him. He makes her smile and laugh constantly, and he still wakes up every morning immediately asking, "Where's Molly?"

Good Golly Miss Molly!

Molly had her 6 month well-visit at the end of last month, and she's healthy as can be. As a matter of fact, she's even healthier than we thought she was. In just six months, she has gone from the low end of the growth chart to the high end for length and weight. She is now in the 90th percentile for length at she's tipping the scales at 18 pounds which puts her in the 75th percentile for weight. She was in the 10th percentile for length and weight when she was born so she's done a lot of growing (which explains why she's outgrowing her clothes way faster than I'd like her to and it wears me out when I try to hold her for longer than a few minutes.)
Molly is close to being able to sit unsupported (without her big head making her tip over) and she's learning to wave too. She can recognize who we are talking about when we say Daddy, Bo and Mommy. It's just amazing what a little person like her can do already!
We go back to the doctor in another week to have her head re-measured. As long as it's not any further off the growth chart, we won't have the CT scan done. We hoping for good news before Thanksgiving!
Here are a few pictures of our precious Molly!

The House that Judd and Bubba Built-Weeks 6-8

Since my last post, there has been lots of progress on the house--insulation, drywall, bricks, fireplace, stairs, doors, paint...there's something new every day, and we are so excited about being able to move in around Christmas! We pick out tile, carpet and counter tops tomorrow and then lighting on Saturday.

These are from week 6:
