Well Visits

Both kids recently had their well-visits---Molly had her 15 month check-up and Bo's was for turning five.

Molly did fairly well with her visit.  She is terrified of a nurse who is always the one to give her shots so as soon as Molly saw the nurse, there were many tears shed.  Molly recovered fairly quickly and her exam went well.  She is not saying many words and doesn't care to imitate/"perform" the words that she does  know on a consistent basis.  That whole part of her personality is reflected in just about everything that she does.  While Bo is usually our rule follower, Molly does the exact opposite of what we ask her to do. (Hopefully it will all be out of her system before we even get to the terrible twos).  Other than limited expressive communication, she is doing well with everything else.  She's sleeping and eating great, and, as her teacher tells us, "she is able to be at all four corners of the room at one time."  Our Molly is FAST!

Weight: 24.4 pounds (80th percentile)
Height: 31 inches (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 50 cm (98th percentile--she's back on the chart!)

Bo's healthy as can be, and he was so brave for his shots.  The doctor noticed a ticking sound when he listened to Bo's heart in addition to the sounds from the Still's murmur (which we already knew Bo had) which could indicate a potential problem.  We had to go back to have it re-checked this week, and fortunately the doctor told us that he didn't hear that sound anymore.  Molly and I couldn't stay in the room while the doctor was listening to Bo's heart because she was crying so hard --we saw "her nurse" right when we came in but when the doctor asked us to come back in Bo said "there's no ticks anymore!!"
